Aerial

This piece was started in 2008 and continues to be added to in phases, the last of which is expected to be installed late 2012.

Artwork is cut and sandblasted into the concrete paving at the various entrances to this shopping center in Santa Rosa. The abstract shapes and patterns are derived from studying aerial photographs of the agricultural land north of Santa Rosa. The flocks of shadow-birds reflect the ever-present blackbirds, starlings, buzzards, and hawks seen in Sonoma County.

The piece is located at Coddingtown, just off hwy 101, at the north end of Santa Rosa, CA. Commissioned by the City of Santa Rosa and Simon Property Group.
